Updated: May 20, 2024

New Delhi:

The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed two writ petitions: one concerning apprehensions over 19 lakh missing EVMs and another requesting the use of ballot papers for elections, reaffirming its confidence in EVMs.

Regarding the petition about the missing EVMs, the top court deemed the apprehensions and allegations to be completely baseless, thus closing the case in favor of the Election Commission of India (ECI).
