New Delhi:

The Supreme Court expressed strong disapproval towards the State Bank of India for not giving all the information about electoral bonds. These bonds allowed people and companies to give money to political parties without revealing their identity. The court had earlier said this system was not okay and asked the bank to provide all the information about the donations made over the past five years.

In response to a request from the Election Commission, the Supreme Court mentioned that the data given by the SBI was not complete. The court, led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud along with four other judges, instructed the SBI to share not only the details they already gave but also the electoral bond numbers.
